There They Go Again

Well, once again we see how desperate the neo-republicans are to even the score at the expense of President Clinton.   The most recent example is that of the Hubbell tapes.   One mean spirited hate monger stepped out of his authority to subpoena those legally recorded tapes and then had one of his toadies to edit them in such a way as to cast further dispersions on the First Lady.   Then true to the lock step of "The Party" the marginal leader Newt announced that he stood behind Representative Burton's abuse of privilege (possibly so that he wouldn't be hit by the flying egg that followed).   In any case when this finally played out, We the People were informed that the tapes were inappropriately edited and that they were really sorry.   And to prove it they forced Rep. Burton's henchman Bossie to resign.   But Newt still stood behind him(Burton) sort of.

There are a couple of funny things about this.   Not funny Ha-Ha; But funny Sad.   The first is, that the party that stands up and insists upon personal responsibility, would allow this shifting of blame to end up on the door-step of a junior staffer.   Second that these men are still hounding and looking for ways to abuse and denigrate Hillary Rodham-Clinton. It's quite true that they are afraid of a woman who does more than just sit at home and make cookies.   And one who is smarter than most of them is seen as a threat to their masculinity-read control of power.

I wrote earlier that this was really another attempt to load all of what these Fascists believe were wrongs committed against Republican Presidents of the past onto a current Democratic President.   It makes no matter that it's President Clinton.   It could be any Democrat; the whole gist of this WhiteWater investigation is to get even for the perceived wrongs done to Nixon, Reagan and Bush.   There is nothing that the American people can do to stop this freight train, because these are mean vindictive people, who will not let anything alone until they have gotten their pound of flesh.

There is a bright spot, albeit small.   That is that Representative Burton's chief investigator David Bossie will probably not be out of work for long.   I would not at all be surprised to see him hired and working for the Special Inquisitor Ken Starr by the end of the current month.   If not for Starr then I'm sure that some other Clinton-hater will have him on their payroll before long.
