Thought for the day
March 31, 1999
I was listening to my favorite rock group this evening, and thought I would share one of their lyrics with you. This one is from the song "Prime Mover" (on Rush's 1987 release "Hold your Fire").
The point of a journey is not to arrive.
Whenever I come across nuggets of wisdom like this, I try to pause a few minutes and reflect on my life and how amazingly fortunate I am. I think about my beautiful wife and intelligent children. I consider the path my life has taken and cannot help but smile.
The point of our journey is to make the most of our time here. When it's over, no amount of money or regret will purchase another lifetime. How marvelous to be here and now.
Don't squander your life worrying or fantasizing. Get off your ass and enjoy it!
