Thought for the day

August 9, 1999

In yet another ridiculous statement, Ken Starr today was quoted as being "horrified" that the House of Representatives made his report widely available without censoring it. What a crock! How can this guy even stand to look at himself in the mirror?

The interview with NBC on the fifth anniversary of his accepting the position of Grand Inquisitor was also covered by Reuters. Starr said he was "genuinely'' surprised when Congress released his full report without excising the more salacious material.

What? Come on there Cleatus, you publish a dirty-book with more pornographic references and depictions of lust and desire than the average issue of Hustler magazine and you deliver it to the Congress of the United States in an orchestrated media parade down Pennsylvania Avenue and then you profess "genuine surprise" that the Republican controlled House would, in any way, balk at releasing as much embarrassing information as it possibly could? You, Sir, appear to be less than honest.

Now let's not gloss over the President's conduct. To protect himself, his wife and daughter from embarrassment, he parsed every word of your entrapping questions. As only a lawyer could, he answered straightforward questions so that no one, not even the Mighty Ken Starr could figure out what he said. And for that he was punished by Judge Wright, WITH A FINE. Not impeachment. Not removal from office. You don't overturn TWO national elections as a punishment for receiving oral sex. As comedian Chris Rock says "The country is the best it's ever been. Unemployment is down. Interest rates are down and wages are up. The President DESERVES a bl**-job!"

Starr, while "promising" to end his witch-hunt, oops, I mean "impartial investigation" before the 2000 elections refused to say if he thought he had the power to RE-indict the President. One thing is for certain, Starr was appointed to investigate the failed Whitewater land deal. His investigation was expanded to include Vince Foster's suicide and the so-called "travel-gate" and "file-gate" (named after Nixon's dirty tricks at the Watergate hotel). During Starr's sworn testimony before the Congress of the United States of America the Democrats forced him to confess that both President and Mrs. Clinton had committed no wrongdoing related to any of the areas that Starr was supposed to be researching. With the possible exception of not wanting the world to know that he was getting a occasional BJ from an adult, female intern.

Starr has already exonerated the Clintons (under oath). Why can't he let go of the public teat and end this farce?
