Sugar and Spice

Here are some fun facts about nutrition.

Cinnamon lowers blood sugar. A teaspoon a day is the recommended amount.

A one ounce chocolate bar is a better snack choice than a granola bar. That’s about five chocolate kisses.

Cheerios has a higher glycemic rating than glucose- that means it rushes into your blood stream faster than pure sugar. Most processed cereals are fast acting carbohydrates.

Fats and oils, including vegetable oils, cause inflamation related diseases such as heart disease and arthritis. Use more steam and less oil in your stir fry. Eat raw, not roasted nuts. Since olive oil is not treated with high temperatures during processing, it is the most healthy oil. (I guess that fact wasn’t so much fun.)

Spices are really very good for you, so go ahead and eat that curry.

Processed flour is Death Dust. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
