The Sky is Falling

We don’t get snow that often in Bellingham, but this year has been an exception. I was virtually stranded at home (as most other people in the Pacific Northwest) for the last two weeks in December. Even Amtrak stopped running as a result. Then in January the melting snow flooded, stranded us for two or three days.

Then weather returned to normal gray skies and rain. We got a second snow surprise in February that fell cold and fluffy. It didn’t melt for a couple of days, but it was never suitable for snowmen- I kept on checking. The stuff just wouldn't stick together.

This morning again, a curtain of snow is falling. The flakes are tiny, but they are accumulating. We are all getting so nonchalant about the white stuff that school isn’t even on its two hour delay schedule. As soon as I finish my coffee, I’m going to see if this stuff will stick enough to build a snow man.
