I Think She Needed a Hug

The Royal Watchers- did I get that term right?- are in a tizzy because Michelle Obama put her arm around the queen.
I’m no fan of royalty of any kind. In fact, not having any is one of America’s greatest strengths. But ever since I saw M. make that endearing gesture to the old lady, I feel a little less disapproval of Elizabeth as a person- in spite of her title.
Michelle Obama is awesome. I bet Queen Elizabeth thinks so too.
(This is not an April fools’ joke. Michelle Obama is the most awesome first lady in American history.)
