Facebook Time

I haven't written a blog for a month because I figured out how to use Facebook. It is a lot of fun catching up with relatives that I never knew I had, hearing about nephews and nieces daily challenges and successes, and best of all reconnecting with old friends. It was a lot of fun watching who preferred Mafia Wars or Farmville, and who went straight to the virtual drinking game until I was polishing the crystals on my chandelier this morning, contemplating the difference between dust and patina and how easily that could spark a family feud, when I realized that with Facebook chatting I never fully express my thoughts in the detail they deserve.

So now there is no chronicle of how I changed a city council vote with the infamous accusation that our water supply was chemical soup. Nor will anyone hear why it is a bad idea to put out rat poison if you have raccoons living in your chimney. Why didn't I take the time to tell everyone that my feud with Captain Bob, the neighborhood watch commando, is over because he swept my driveway?

So much has been lost in one sentence responses and short, vague daily posts that will never be recaptured. With our annual Christmas party coming up that will fill my house with relatives who do not appreciate patina, I will have a lot of time to think while I am dusting under the knick-knacks and moving furniture to hide the spots on the carpet- which were probably caused by guests of one of my previous parties, so stay tuned for a blog about that.
