It's Always Sunny in Farmville

Last week Mom was surprised to see me playing games on the computer. She thought I never did. And I never do because I am compulsive about games, and not just computer games. Whether it's solitaire, pinocle, hangman, or Hand and Foot, I get started and I can't stop.

Until Facebook sucked me in (with a little help from Ryanne). One afternoon, I was online checking postings from friends when she spotted the Family Feud icon. So I started a couple of games, just to play back and forth with a couple of people. Soon I was scouring friends' pages for some game request to respond to. I racked up points pretty fast, which of course, rewarded me with more games.

Not much harm done, because FF limits number of free games. But then Ryanne's mom mentioned she needed more friends on Farmville to get stuff. Now do you hear a giant sucking sound?

I have been on Farmville more than any person with a real life can explain. Part of the problem is that my browser doesn't accept the Farmville toolbar which would make by forays into Farmville much more efficient. If I had that, I could get a lot more neighbors and build a corporate farm much more quickly. I notice that many of my friends have done just that, but that is a different topic.

The only way I'm going to get out of this mess is to quit both games cold turkey- which reminds me, I haven't seen any turkeys in Farmville. Maybe I'll just go look....
