Another beautiful sunny day in Bellingham which means I have to work like crazy to get outdoors stuff done. Make hay while the sun shines, or in my case, killing moss while the sun shines. I don't mind. I enjoy being on the roof. Cleaning up moss is a lot easier than cleaning the gutters, which I have to do after the moss from the shingles tumbles into them. Oh, well. At least I have something to do outside in this beautiful weather. BTW I don't use a pressure washer to get the moss off. I tried that one year and it was a lot of time and work for the same results I get with the scrape method. A regular pencil loosens the moss from the crevices with mimimal damage to the shingles. And it's so much quieter this way that I actually enjoy myself. |
