Jerry is making a rare trip to Richland with me tomorrow. I go there a few times a year, but he is very concerned about getting too hot so he stays home. Then he calls me to tell me how hot it is (in Richland where I am) and how uncomfortable I am. Which, I am not. I look forward to the Columbia Basin desert heat. I remember the summer I left Minnesota. I was in Duluth, and 82 degrees in July was melting and miserable. The air felt too thick to walk through. Big surprise to arrive in the Tri-cities to find it a dry, comfortable 90 degrees. True story. It isn't the heat, it's the humidity. We're driving the long, three hundred miles which is a real test of my back seat driving ability especially now that he insists I really ride in the back seat to do it. No breaks, no steering wheel, and no control over the radio! I'll let you know how it turns out. |
