Should have stayed in bed.

Some jobs are such a hassle that I would never do them if I planned it ahead. Like today. I vacuumed the fir needles from the car floor mats. It's a miserable job but I'll move past that and instead say that if I knew I was going to do it, I wouldn't have done it. I sort of surprised myself into it while digging through stuff in the garage to get at the Christmas boxes. There was the vacuum, the extension cords, the driveway was dry and the sky was clear, so I thought 'why not?' then before I thought of the reasons why not, I was off and running.

I don't have that feeling of satisfaction from it either. Instead of 'wow, look what I did' I'm wondering how to keep people out of the car so the mats don't get dirty again. So that's my gripe for the day. The task even ruined my sense of humor. It's enough to make me want to hire a logging company to come and clear my lot.
