Nature's Way

I don't know if I've ever mentioned this, but I'm no fan of Nature. So last night I was sitting at a stop light when I noticed a reader board outside a chiropractor's office. It declared, “lose weight nature's way.”

Nature's way of weight loss? Did they mean starvation? Everything I know about nature's way is that we are just a few farming tools away from chewing pine cones. Most people I know haven't felt hunger pains since 1964. Maybe we've forgotten that nature's way of weight loss involves a lot of discomfort.

The other nature's way of weight loss is running away from predators. The downside of that doesn't need to be explained.

If the chiropractor adjusted his honesy bone, his sign would have said, 'get out your wallet and pretend that you can lose weight by magic.” Nature's way is simply too extreme.
