What Time Is It? Party Time!

My family is scattered out on the West Coast so it's pretty exciting when I can get more than three of them together at once. Mom is visiting from Richland so Tom and Tim will be up today for a visit. Brothers Mike, and birthday boy, Dan are far away, but we'll keep an Elijah chair for them.

Jerry and I don't have 'drop in' company. I've always thought that sounded like fun, in theory. The company we have is always planned. All the better! I can fix party food, hide the clutter, sweep the dust under the rug, and spend the time enjoying my guests.

Many years ago, when I expected small guests, I would set enticing boxes with tiny treasures inside. I was once a bit discouraged when a mother told her toddler, 'don't touch.' But for the most part, there were enough treats and surprises to delight the children.

Adults are easier to entertain, but thanks to Laurel, I have added a new dimension to some parties- games. Laurel likes Scrabble, but anything short of Monopoly will do.

Now I better get back to my visitor day prep. I just wanted to tell all my family and friends that I wish you could be here too.
