Everybody knows that the busier you are, the more things you get done. I think it's a law of physics. On the other hand, everybody wishes they had more time to do the things they enjoy. So which everybody is right? Someone I once knew, who, by the way, I didn't like very much anyway, said that she wished she “had time to sit in the sun and write.” This remark still annoys me because writing isn't that easy, even though I make it look like it is. On the other hand, I have plenty of time, and I rarely write or sit in the sun. Of course, in Bellingham, sunshine is rare and shouldn't be wasted by sitting. This has been on my mind all morning because I have a lot to do today. In addition to appointments, I am expecting a repairman to come in my house. Since my housekeeping is in a state of emergency, I have been scurrying all morning to make the place look like someone lives here. In case you are wondering why I would clean house for a repairman, consider doing a job for someone who apparently doesn't have any standards. My house will never be magazine-cover ready, but at least he will know that I might complain if I'm not satisfied. Not that I would, but with a not-messy house, he won't know that for sure. So with everything that is going on today, I still have time to write a blog. If my schedule remains hectic, I might write a novel. |
