We finally get a break today from Tinsley's lame attempts to camouflage the concerted republican efforts to hurt President Clinton. But if you were looking for entertainment, I sorry to say that the duck is still suffering through a terrible dry-spell. There's not much for readers (regardless of their political persuasion) today.
Today the duck is sitting in a chair watching TV. The unidentified voice is announing that Tammy Wynette finally has a new song and it is titled "Enough is enough already..."
I'm not very knowlegable about country music, although my father listened to it often. So I went to CDNOW to try and find out more about Ms. Wynette.
They don't have much information about this legendary country singer but I was able to find that she hasn't been very active releasing records lately. The last release I could find was two years ago, and that was only another "Greatest Hits" re-hash. There doesn't appear to be much new work coming from her, let alone a hit record. But that's no reason to attack her.
It's possible that Tinsley is trying to be more subtle in today's cartoon. (Unlike Ms. Wynette, Tinsley is a legend in his own mind.) But if so, it must require a more thorough understanding of Tammy Wynette than I possess. To me, it just looks like he is making fun of a woman because it has been so very long since she was able to come up with a hit record. Pretty sick Bruce.
